WEEKENDSŪ is a unique prevention program that offers positive (drug-free, alcohol-free, violence-free) activity choices to high school students through a three prong approach: social activities, community service opportunities, and leadership development. By providing positive activity choices, WEEKENDSŪ reduces the idle time which leads to negative behavior, specifically substance use and juvenile violence. WEEKENDSŪ is a unique concept: run for teens by teens, with the assistance of on campus Program Coordinators and adult volunteers at ten high schools located in Orange County. WEEKENDSŪ teens promote a substance-free, violence-free lifestyle by implementing positive activity choices for their peers.
