Picnic and Park Opening in District 3!

Full Description:

Dear Friends: (from Commissioner Stuart)
Just a friendly reminder to please join City staff and me for the inaugural City of Orlando District 3 Picnic taking place this Saturday, May 10th from 10:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. We are holding the picnic in conjunction with the dedication of Orlando’s newest green space, Orlando Cultural Park, located in the Loch Haven area at 530 East Princeton Street.

This picnic is a way for me to say thanks to all of the active residents of District 3 for their contributions to our community and our City Beautiful.

There will be food, entertainment, a disc jockey, bounce house, slide, face painting, presentations by OFD and OPD and fun activities for the whole family. Please come and join us for this fun event where you can learn about your City and meet some neighbors at the same time!

Free Parking will be provided nearby at both the Florida Hospital (entrance on Alden) and Orlando Science Center garages (entrance on Camden). Please look for signs directing you to these areas on the day of the event.

And if you don’t already have Mother’s Day plans, please note that both Leu Gardens and the Orlando Museum of Art are offering free admission for all moms on Sunday, May 11th. This is just one more reason to get out and enjoy the wonderful amenities of the City of Orlando and District 3.

Also, next Saturday, May 17th, the City of Orlando Housing Department is offering a free, educational workshop on Foreclosure Prevention and Predatory Lending Tips in District 3 at the Rosemont Community Center, 4872 Rose Bay Drive. The seminar will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will feature a team of experts speaking on topics such as foreclosure proceedings, tax implications and how to recognize predatory lending practices. For more information, please call 407-246-2708.

For more information about any of these events, please feel free to call my office at 407-246-2003. Thanks and I look forward to seeing you on the 10th!

Robert
