Edgewater Drive Vision Task Force Update and Meeting Invitation - Thursday, April 3, 2008 – 7:00 to 8:30 PM
Full Description:
The Edgewater Drive Vision Task Force, a group of 11 College Park business owners and residents appointed by Mayor Dyer, has been working on draft solutions to guide the future development of the Edgewater Drive corridor. To date, they have gathered together with neighbors of College Park to understand the fundamentals of City Planning (November 2007), documented the existing conditions of the corridor with a Walkabout on Edgewater Drive (December 2007), discussed Urban Form - where buildings are located and how big they can be- (February 2008), and examined Transportation and Parking issues (March 2008). Prior to City Planning Staff drafting a plan for the area, the Task Force will look at the additional issues of Architectural Details (May 2008), and Financing issues (June 2008).
The month of April 2008 is devoted to studying Pedestrian Friendliness on Edgewater Drive in order to maximize walkability and create a sense of place. We hope you can join us so the Task Force might hear your input on this important issue; the work of the Task Force is creative and frequently in draft form that is open to discussion by all.
Please join the Edgewater Drive Vision Task Force and me for our next meeting on the future of Downtown College Park.
Who: Edgewater Drive Vision Task Force.
When: Thursday, April 3, 2008 – 7:00 to 8:30 PM.
