So, did you stop by our booth at “Sunday in the Park” to “Guess how many M&M’s in the jar?” for a chance to win a $50.00 gift card to a College Park merchant of YOUR choice?
Well…. over 350 people did.....and.....
HOLLY DeFORD did and WON with a guess of 756!!! The actual number in the jar was 757! She was only off by one! (The contest was “closest to the pin”, it was not “closest without going over”) She will receive the $50 gift certificate to a College Park merchant of HER CHOICE AND 757 peanut M&M’s to eat!
So, Holly, when you see this, email us at
Patrick@MyCollegePark.com or call us at (407)415-3523 to verify your information and to arrange delivery of your prize!
The runners up (though there are no prizes for the runners up – sorry) are:
Brent Mead, 750
Heidi L., 750
G. Williamson, 750
David Weaver, 750
Heather Dean, 753
Phillip McMican, 759
Jayen Lazzell, 770
Stacey Malaret, 775
(We apologize if some names are spelled wrong – some handwriting was hard to read!)
The guesses ranged from as low as 21 to as high as 8,000 – there were a LOT of guesses in the 400-500 range! Ironically, it seemed that all the “mathematicians” who tried to do a lot of calculating and measuring were not even close (in most cases)! Last year’s winner (Shirley Seule) came back for another crack at it but we had a bigger jar this year to throw her off track (she did not win again – sorry Shirley)!
We also gave away 90 pounds of roasted peanuts throughout the day! It was a busy day!
Overall it was a great day with great weather! We would like to thank everyone for your support and for stopping by the MyCollegePark.com booth – it was a fun time meeting everyone as we hope you will visit and use College Park’s MOST active, interactive, & free web site often!
