Coyote warning signs posted in College Park

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has placed signs and fliers around College Park warning people of coyotes roaming through the area. The flyers provide suggestions on how to spot coyote activity and co-exist with the wild animals. The newly posted alerts are the first sign that FWC has recognized a coyote issue in the Orlando neighborhood. Pet owners, though, have said that it's been a problem for several weeks. FWC spokesman Greg Workman said coyotes are natural predators that adapt easily and tend to be active during sunset and sunrise. He said the best way to prevent an animal attack is to keep pets inside.

College Park Drum/Dance Circle

We love drumming at Orlando Brewery and have started a drum circle at Albert Park in College Park on the 3rd Saturday of each month. We start at 7 and end around 9:15. In addition to being a beautiful location, we have been positively received by the restaurant patrons across the street and have lots of smiling locals checking us out. It's nice to drum where you can be heard and appreciated by the public. The park is small enough that, if you bring your children, they will always be in sight. Plus, we end early enough for you to then take your family or date for food and drink at one of the restaurants up and down Edgewater Drive (Alfonso's Pizza, Jax Fifth Avenue, Tijuana Flats, Harmony, Jade, etc.)

Predator Coyote Protection for Cats, Dogs

I have used Nite Guard Solar in my yard to protect me from many coyotes that had moved in. It protected a feral cat for two years and me for three, now. I am just a citizen living near Lakeland, FL. The coyotes left the same night it was put up. It is a blinking red light they think is a predator looking at them. They left and have not come back. It makes it better for a pet that has to go out to the bathroom, because the coyotes are not there anymore. I am not a salesperson--but look it up and read testimonials on their company website about it. For me, it has really worked and saved lives. Please let people in Winter Park know about it. I read about the coyotes in your areas on the Internet, and I have to let you know. Good luck. cc/Anonymous
